Power Infrastructure

While many data centers carry 50 to 80 watts of power per square foot, our data center carries a much higher watts per square foot of power enabling us to meet the demands all of our current and future critical load. One exciting feature of the data center power infrastructure is our multiple substation power feeds. This allows the data center to be fully redundant even from a power grid perspective.

UPS System
The first line of defense in the data center is our UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply) system, which is fully redundant with two complete parallel UPS environments, either of which can assume 100% of the data center's critical load for over an hour. Additionally, our diesel generators (see below) come online within 7 to 10 seconds of any power failure or in the event of any electrical storms to ensure clean reliable power.

Diesel Generators
In the event of a widespread and long lasting electrical grid failure, our on-site Cummins diesel generators, each with enough power to run a small city, can power our entire facility indefinitely. We have one 1750 Kw and two 2000 Kw generators. The 1750 Kw is equipped with a 3,200-gallon base fuel tank and the other two 2000 Kw utilize a 16,000 gallon fuel tank. Together the generators can power our entire facility for many days before needing to be refilled by any one of three contracted refueling companies. For redundancy, the generators are equipped with dual electric starters, and are tested regularly to ensure optimal performance.

 Power is King

According to Gartner, 50% of current data centers will be obsolete by 2008 due to insufficient power and cooling capacity to meet the demands of high-density equipment.

SingleEdge is one of a handful of companies nationwide that can provide power for the forecasted need.
